Speaking to IQNA, Sheikh Muhammad Salim al-Lababidi, secretary general of Palestinian Dar al-Ifta in Lebanon, said the presence of Shia and Sunni scholars and thinkers from different countries at the conference shows that the Muslim Ummah is not what hostile media portray.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference here in Tehran, Ali Larijani said Iran will never abandon the policy of working toward enhancement of Muslim unity.


The Imam Khomeini Virtual University, affiliated with the Imam Khomeini Institute for Research and Education, has been established in 2006 with the presence of the chancellor of the Imam Khomeini Institute for Research and Education, Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi.
The university provides educational services in two areas of virtual and semi-formal education for the general public of Islamic education and its aims are:
• Islamic Sciences Education;
• Designing new practices in distance learning;
• Trying to apply the latest technologies in the world in producing written content;
• Quantitative and qualitative growth of Muslims’ awareness of the knowledge of religion.

The Imam Khomeini Institute for Research and Education has been founded under the supervision of Ayatollah Khamenei and its chancellor is also appointed by him. At present, the presidency of the institute has been transferred to Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi. Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi is a jurist, commentator, philosopher, and expert on fundamental Islamic issues and has produced excellent and important authoring works. The Institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees to students. The various disciplines of the humanities and Islamic sciences are divided into 17 groups: Ethics, Religions, Economics, History, Contemporary Thought, Quran Interpretation and Sciences, Sociology, Law, Psychology, Language, Mysticism, Educational Sciences, Political Science, Theology, Philosophy, Islamic Learnings, and Management.
